Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Originating from Worthington Ohio, she quit high school in order to relocate into Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. Her role was reprised for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation to the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. The year was 2013, and she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal clan and the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she played small parts in her father's movies and was co-starring with her twin brother on Donnie Darko which is a famous cult film. Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for an Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the love story Secretary (2002). Both films received acclaim from critics. Her other roles include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in the film Frank (2014) as well as The title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021 with her psychological drama The Lost Daughter.
